Curtis Judd from the website and YouTube channel “Learn Light And Sound” posted a detailed and informative video about the SGM-250 shotgun microphone.
In the video, Curtis really puts the SGM-250 through its paces. He uses the SGM-250 for his dialogue capture throughout the entirety of the video, so you get a great example of the natural sound that the microphone can produce. The microphone is tried in a few other scenarios as well, including mounted on top of a DSLR camera and plugged into a Zoom H4n recorder. There’s even a little a little comparison to the RODE NTG-2, which the SGM-250 stands up against quite nicely.
In addition to all of this, Curtis goes over all the features and capabilities of the microphone in good detail. If you’re thinking about getting the SGM-250 but want a good in-depth look at it first, this is a great video to check out.
